Description: The purpose of the DIO ontology is to model the design intent or design rationale while undertaking the design of any artifact. A design intent or design rationale is an explicit documentation of the reasons behind decisions made when designing a system or artifact.

Usefulness: DIO is a useful resource for implementing tools that assist in the collaborative design of artifacts.

Standards and metadata

Metadata description is done in Linked Data using DataID, a metadata description vocabulary based on DCAT. DMP reports are automatically generated and maintained up to date using this metadata.

Growth: The DIO will be revised in M11 and M24 of the ALIGNED project.
