Members of the ALIGNED consortium attended the European Semantic Web Conference recently.

The twelfth European Semantic Web Conference was held in Portorož, Slovenia, from 31st May to 4th June 2015. ALIGNED co-sponsored the 2nd Workshop on Linked Data Quality on 1st June. At this workshop, Dr. Gavin Mendel-Gleason, from Trinity College Dublin, presented a paper on “Ontology Consistency and Instance Checking for Real World Linked Data.” Later that evening, there was a social at the Cafinho cafe in nearby beautiful historic Piran, which included participants of the LDQ workshop. The event was sponsored by ALIGNED and participants were able to discuss Linked Data Quality over lovely food and a few pints.

On 31st May, Christian Dirschl, from Wolters Kluwer Germany, hosted a tutorial on Enterprise Linked Data Strategies & the Commercialization of Interlinked Data, in conjunction with speakers from the Semantic Web Company. A small but engaged group had wide-ranging discussions about progress in the licensing and business aspect of Linked Data. The Linked Data Business Cube presented by Professor Tassilo Pellegrini was much appreciated by the audience, as it is a systematic yet practical approach on how to deal with the topic. The tutorial will be held again at SEMANTiCS Vienna 2015.

Christian has also written a blog post about ESWC.
